Health Guidance
The following information is intended to help decide when a student should stay home:
If a student has had a fever of 100 degrees or more, the student should stay home for 24 hours after the temperature returns to normal without fever reducing medication such as ibuprofen or acetaminophen.
If a student has vomited or had diarrhea, the student should stay home for 24 hours after the last episode. The student may return to school earlier if a medical exam indicates that the student is not having vomiting or diarrhea due to a communicable disease in cases such as anxiety, gastric reflux, etc.
If a student has had any rash with fever and/or behavior change, or the cause of the rash is unknown, please check with your health care provider before sending the student to school.
If a student has mouth sores and is drooling, please check with your health care provider before sending the student to school.
If a student has unusual color of skin, eyes, stool or urine, please check with your health care provider before sending the student to school.
Students should not attend school if they are not well enough to participate in routine activities as they normally could.
