Announcements
Maker Space--Help Wanted!
The 7th grade is currently engaged in Maker Term, and we have teamed up with the Cannon Valley Makers to provide some additional mentorship and resources as the 7th graders get us started in this endeavor, building an official Arcadia Maker community.
If you have materials or tools you would be willing to donate to the cause, please let Laura know! We could use a couple of functional, portable sewing machines, hand tools, and materials--fabric, leather, wood, cardstock, etc.--that they can freely use. (We are currently looking at sending materials and tools home with students.)
If you are interested in the Maker movement and want to help students think about possibilities and learn new skills, we could use more help from parents in that regard, too! Most of that work will be online, for now. Let Laura know if you’d like to help!
Gertens Orders
Gertens will drop our order off in the late afternoon on November 30th, and the items will be sorted and ready for pick up by 8:30am on December 1st! Laura has emailed the families who placed orders with more information.
Operation Joy
Operation Joy is a community-wide gift sharing program of the Community Action Center (CAC). Through the generosity of hundreds of community members, approximately 850 Northfield area children will receive gifts through Operation Joy this year.
While this year may look a little different due to the pandemic, our goal remains the same: to provide a joyful holiday experience for all children in our community. To learn more, to give to Operation Joy, or to receive support this holiday season, please visit communityactioncenter.org/operation-joy.
If you have questions, contact Lisa Percy (507) 573-2610 or email percy.lisa@communityactioncenter.org.
Attendance Form
Please report attendance-related information (appointments, illness) through our website! Go to “Current Families” and then “ Report an Absence.” You can fill out as much as is relevant. If your child is staying home ill, please make sure to report symptoms, as we are required to track a lot of information on illness this year! If you’d rather just save a link to the form somewhere accessible to you, here is a link to the form.
