Arcadia This Week 6/1/2021

Hello, Arcadia families,

May Term (in June) is finally here!! We are very excited to be offering a more typical May Term experience this year, whether students are participating in person or online!

Students in hiking with Lori, horses with Chris, community garden with Tami, and poetry with Tammy, please have a parent or guardian sign the relevant waiver! Everyone is staying around Arcadia today, but those four May Terms will be traveling to other locations in the next week.

May Term Donations Welcome!

This year, instead of charging students for individual May Terms, we are asking families who are able to make a donation toward the cost of all May Term activities. Our suggested donation is $25/student. The goal is to ensure that all May Term activities are accessible to all students! Thank you to the families who have already made donations!

You can send in a check, or pay online here: https://arcadiacharterschool.org/online-payments

Model Update and Upcoming Schedule

Rice County COVID case rate numbers continue to decline, down to 17.94/10,000 in a two-week period!

Masking (staying masked in the building) and distancing requirements remain in place for students and adults at Arcadia, regardless of vaccination status.

Again, vaccination is now available to most Arcadia students (ages 12+)! Appointments are widely available at Hyvee in Faribault: https://www.hy-vee.com/my-pharmacy/covid-vaccine; Northfield Hospital and Clinics has vaccine appointments available for 12+: https://www.northfieldhospital.org/covid-19-vaccine; others have had luck at Northfield Urgent Care, and most clinics now have appointments available.

You can also check on Vaccine Spotter: https://www.vaccinespotter.org/MN/

Or use the State Vaccine Connector: https://mn.gov/covid19/vaccine/connector/connector.jsp

June 1: First day of “May” Term

June 10: Last Day of School and Graduation! (Graduation will be held in the backyard at Arcadia the evening of June 10 for graduates and their families.)

General Announcements

Returning Materials and Technology

Please return all school-owned materials--Chromebooks, textbooks, Ozobots, headsets, etc.--to the building to be inventoried and repaired (as needed). If your child is participating in an in-person May Term, these materials can be dropped off any time before June 10th. If your child still needs them during May Term, then please return them by the afternoon of June 10th. All materials must be returned by June 10th. Thank you!

Please note, the small white board and Rocketbook that were part of students’ materials pack at the beginning of the year belong to your student, and do not need to be returned. However, they will need them for next year!

Attendance Form

Please report attendance-related information (appointments, illness) through our website! Go to “Current Families” and then “ Report an Absence.” You can fill out as much as is relevant. If your child is ill, please make sure to report symptoms, as we are required to track a lot of information on illness this year! If you’d rather just save a link to the form somewhere accessible to you, here is a link to the form.
