COVID Update **masks required**
Masks remain required.
Two new cases of COVID-19 have been reported in the past week (Gail has reached out to close contacts, so if you have not heard from her, you are not considered a close contact, and there is nothing else you need to do at this time). Other illnesses (like actual influenza) are also present in the community. We received a new shipment of CUE tests, and we have BD Veritor and Binax tests available for students.
Senior Presentation Night
Come hear our seniors present their senior projects! Senior Presentation Night runs from 6:30-8:00pm tonight (5/10) and Thursday night (5/12). Seniors have shortened their original, forty-five minute presentations to ten minutes with five minutes to answer questions.
Tuesday Presenters: Lila, Travis, Elijah, Ari, Kyrie, Riley, Delia
Thursday Presenters: Kiara, Dustin, Airilin, Courtney, Fox, Henry, Quinn, Lars
ICYMI: Arts at Arcadia Announcement!
First of all, congratulations to the cast and crew of The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (Abridged) on a fantastic run! Wonderful job, all! A few of my favorite moments from the play: Connor as Ophelia, Milo telling a horse joke, Julien being pre-/post-eminent, Isaac U. as Romeo, Isaac H. as Caesar, Nathan Googling Shakespeare, Elliot pontificating, Rachel’s disdain for Group A, Leo as the bear in pursuit, and Willow’s Hamlet speech.
We announced at the final performance of The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (Abridged) that Bob Gregory-Bjorklund, our beloved theater teacher, director, and advisor for many years, is retiring. For real this time. Sort of.
With enormous gratitude for everything he has contributed to Arcadia and the Northfield community over the course of his career, we wish Bob all the best!
We are also excited to announce that Noah Schomburg, a former student of Bob’s and a licensed visual arts teacher, will be joining us full-time next year in the role of Visual and Performing Arts Teacher! Bob (only mostly retired) will be mentoring Noah in this new role, and we are thrilled to have a way forward that both honors Bob’s legacy and brings a new, exciting spin to our arts programming as Noah makes the role his own!
Welcome, Noah!
Arcadia Online Store
Expand your Arcadia wardrobe! Usually, once in the fall and once in the spring, we work with Larson Printing in Northfield to offer Arcadia logo clothing and other items. This is not a fundraiser, but it is good marketing! This year, tote bags and backpacks are unavailable, so they are not included in the catalog, but there is a wide variety of clothing items!
Enter the store here: https://larsonsprinting.itemorder.com/shop/sale/
Then put in the entry code: ARC22
Authorizer Contract
The contract went to the Northfield School Board for a first read last night! Dr. Hillmann has recommended they approve it. It goes to our Board for approval on May 17th, back to the Northfield Board for approval on May 23rd, then to the State for final approval.
