Mission Spotlight: Finding Balance, Taking a Break

It is the mission of Arcadia Charter School to prepare our students to transition intellectually, emotionally, and ethically to higher education, future employment, and engaged citizenship.

We have all been working hard toward our mission this month. All students are currently engaged in rigorous project work, writing drafts of supporting materials, and getting feedback from advisors. Soon, they will be preparing in earnest for their presentations at the end of the second quarter. Seniors are beyond the preliminary stages of their year-long projects, now doing the hard work that happens in the middle. We had Innovation Day 2 and Thanks-Give, which both required significant engagement from Arcadia’s students. 

Sometimes, it’s important to take a break and just digest it all! Finding a healthy balance between work and rest is also a part of preparing for the transition to adulthood. In the next week, we will still be working hard, but also preparing for some time away from school to rest, relax, and re-energize. We will have four days of school as usual, and then Friday, all middle school students will enjoy a trip to the theater, and the high school will have the HS potluck to reconnect as a community before we say goodbye for a couple of weeks. I hope everyone has a wonderful, relaxing Winter Break!
