Student Council is having a meeting today during lunch in the RoR. We’ll be checking in about our current projects and discussing future ideas and action plans going forward.   

– – -Remember to sign up for 4th quarter Writing electives!Advanced Comp will continue on Days 1, 3, and 5 during 6th Hour.  You can take Advanced Comp even if you did not take it 3rd quarter.  We will be focus our writing on persuasion and argumentation.Published! is a multi-media, media literacy, and writing class that will explore a variety of online resources for self-publishing and opportunities for submitting written and artistic work.  Students will produce 3 projects:  a personal project, a collaborative project, and an Arcadia marketing-focused project.

We are depending on you all to help us buy furnishings for the two new classrooms being built this summer!  We can build the classrooms, but  they will have no desks or chairs or shelves or anything without your help!!  Orders are prepaid and need to be turned in by Monday, March 18th (no later than Wednesday, March 20).  Need another order form?  We have them sitting out at the front desk.  I am ordering hanging baskets (beautiful and at ridiculously low prices) and some big patio tubs for Arcadia’s front entrance!  But you can order plants for your garden as well as flats of flowers.  Please help us reach our goal of $10,000!!  Email or call with any questions!  The order forms are attached.

March is Food Drive month and the CAC (Community Action Center) is launching food drives for the Northfield food shelf.  Please send non-perishable food and put in the box in the front entrance!  Thank you!

Arcadia Charter School is hosting a Family night at the YMCA on Friday, March 15th.  Please join us at 7:00 for an open pool and open gym and walking track.  We would love to see you there! This is a free event for the Arcadia community.  Any questions?  Ask Barb!!

Because of the many snow days, we will end third quarter on March 19th, and fourth quarter on May 21st.  May Term will start on May 22nd.

– – -Attention all students! Arcadia Charter School is participating in the Minnesota Student Survey this year. Over the next two weeks, each grade will take the Minnesota Student Survey.
9th and 10th graders: you will take the survey on Monday 3/11 in the RoR during 1st period, starting promptly at 8:30am.11th graders: you will take the survey on Tuesday 3/12 in the RoR during 1st period, starting promptly at 8:30am.12th graders: you will take the survey on Thursday 3/14 in the RoR during 1st period, starting promptly at 8:30am.6th graders: you will take the survey on Monday 3/18 in the RoR during 1st period, starting promptly at 8:30am.7th graders: you will take the survey on Tuesday 3/19 in the RoR during 1st period, starting promptly at 8:30am.8th graders: you will take the survey on Thursday 3/21 in the RoR during 1st period, starting promptly at 8:30am.
You should plan on getting to the RoR early so you are ready to take the survey. If you don’t usually come to school that early, you should plan on coming in early on the day your grade takes the survey. 
If you prefer listening to the instructions and questions on the survey, there is an audio option, so you are encouraged to bring your headphones. 
The survey contains some questions on sensitive topics, but it is completely anonymous and you are encouraged to be honest in your answers.  – – –

Random Recognitions  

Today’s random recognition goes to Holden and Ben, the 8th grader and 7th grader from the purple advisory, for helping an appreciative student with his project. Thank You for your Help!
