Welcome to Quarter 3!
We’ve hit the ground running and are quickly transitioning into a new cycle of projects and classes. We have an exciting few weeks ahead, filled with visiting artists, field trips, conferences, and before we know it… Spring Break!
This week in Project Work Time, the advisors have introduced the new theme of Race and Diversity. Students have methodically approached this idea and developed a range of project ideas spanning both scientific and social concepts. Many great, thought provoking, discussions have emerged from our exploration. What topic is your student planning to tackle this quarter? Project Proposals are due on Friday.
6th and 7th grade students will finalize their projects with a research paper and a visual this quarter.

8th Grade Update
Over the next semester, our 8th graders will embark on a journey from middle school to high school. This quarter, each 8th grade student will create a “Me Book.” The Me Book is a compilation of personal essays, artwork, and photos. 8th grade students will be introduced to the assignment this week and will work on it for the remainder of the quarter. For many students, the Me Book will be the most writing they have ever done. It is simultaneously an exalted rite of passage and a dreaded challenge (that they will treasure upon completion). Therefore, 8th grade students are exempt from this quarter’s research paper.
