May Term

We are currently cleaning the staff room, if you have left behind a dish, container, platter or utensil from the staff meals or other events, please stop by a take a look at the items in the conference room – any items left will leave Arcadia at 3pm on Tuesday for donation.

Yearbooks will be here and distributed at the start of the last week of May Term. You will have time to have friends sign your yearbooks during lunch and when everyone comes together on the last day.

Acceptance, safety and comfort…Please remember the social contract and care for each other as we “re-group” into our May Term experiences. As the wise Yoda in Blue Advisory states…Accepting We Are…We are a community, we care…we support.   

– – -Students attending the 15 year Arcadia Celebration that want to volunteer to run/lead a carnival game please sign up on the front closet door, or talk to Tami.  
– – -During May Term we do not offer homework help… there is no homework help on Tuesdays and Thursdays for the rest of the school year. 
During May Term attendance is vital…These are very short term courses with much of the day spent participating in experiential learning.Grading and credits earned are directly tied to being present and participating in May Term:

Full Day May Term Attendance (0.50 total credit for a full day class)

  • A student can miss 1 full day of class without reduced credit.
  • Every 4 tardies count as 1 missed day.
  • After 1 missed day:
    • 0.05 credit taken off for each missed day.

Half Day May Term Attendance (0.25 total credit for each half day class)

  • A student can miss 2 full half day May Term classes without reduced credit.
  • Every 4 tardies count as 1 missed day.
  • After 2 missed days:
    • 0.05 credit taken away for every two days missed.

– – -Come one, come all, Arcadia is assembling a choir to sing for the Reunion Celebration June 8! ALL ARE WELCOME!  Students, past and present, staff, past and present, parents and friends, present and future. You do not need to need to sing or even be able to sing to participate… lip-syncing is allowed. We are going to have a blast singing classics like Hallelujah, Big Rock Candy Mountain, and a bunch more. You will want to be there. The practices are  Thursdays after school.Thursdays,  May 30, and June 6 right after school, and Saturday June 8 at 3:30. Led by our former Arcadia teacher Todd Thompson in the Great Room – see you there!!

 Arcadia is having a Party!

 It’s true!  We will be celebrating our 15th Anniversary in June!

 If you haven’t heard the news yet on social media (blame Scott) or by word of mouth, here is another attempt to make sure you’re aware that you and your family are invited!  In fact, everyone from alumni, to former staff and students, to anyone who has an Arcadia connection, is welcome to come to celebrate with us Saturday, June 8th from 4:00 to 7:00 at the school.
