Announcing Arcadia’s Spring Production: that’ll happen on Thursday, Dec. 6 during lunch. Come to the Green advisory, bring your lunch, and meet with Bob to hear about this spring’s play, to be performed May 2, 3 and 4. Both middle and high school students should come and find out about this production- it’ll be fun.
A note from Bob: I have a limited number of tickets available for a performance at the Ordway on January 31, and I need to see who’s interested in going. Tickets are on a first-come basis. The cost is $12, and remember that scholarships are always available. If you’re interested, please sign up on the sheets in your advisory. Yes, you can get credit in Arts Analysis by going to the performance and filling out an analysis form that I’ll give to you. The performance is described below:
The New Ordway Cabaret performances will feature local performers in a cabaret format, whose performances will question stereotypes and celebrate breaking barriers. The desire to please and provoke continues the tradition of writers like Shakespeare and Puccini, whose works Romeo and Juliet and La Bohème inspired the musicals West Side Story and Rent. In those musicals, and in South Pacific, Spring Awakening, La Cage aux Folles and many others, the way relationships are portrayed can challenge accepted beliefs about race, gender, ability and economic status.
Arcadia is once again offering a trip abroad during the summer of 2020. This time we will be exploring Japan! The trip will be open to both middle and high schoolers and will happen for twelve days sometime between June 11 and 29 (we are given a 19 day window to assure the lowest flight costs). For more information, please join me for a Japan Information Night tonight at 7pm in the green advisory.
Donations Needed: If you happen to have a spare microwave you would be willing to donate, we could use one or two in the Great Room for student lunches. Thank you!
Today’s random recognition goes to Logan Wells and everyone who helped and contributed to the new picnic shelter. This is so great!!
