Arcadia is hosting an Omelet Breakfast with the Northfield Eagles Club on Sunday, January 21, 2018, from 8:30am to 12:30pm. 100% of all money raised will be used to support May term activities and scholarships at Arcadia. Please support your child in selling these tickets to friends and family over the holidays. Because the tickets are ‘pre-sold’, 100% of the proceeds from tickets not used, will come back to the school. Those who cannot attend this event may wish to buy a ticket just to support Arcadia’s May Term.
The advisory selling the most tickets by the January 12 deadline, will be treated to an as yet unspecified party in late January. Let’s take advantage of this great fund-raising opportunity! Thanks for your help!!
Do you like documentary films that address challenging social problems? Do you want to earn some civics credit?
The International Film Forum at Carleton College will be screening 10 films between January 8th and February 26th, all with the common theme of “Ecological and Civilizatory Crisis: Envisioning a Sustainable Future and an Equitable and Fair World”. These films address a variety of topics, from cars to seeds to clothes dryers, all addressing the complex problems around environmental sustainability and human society.
Films will screen weekly every Monday at the Weitz Cinema at Carleton College at 7pm for the next 9 weeks. If students attend at least 5 of these screenings and write a brief reflection paper, they can earn civics credit! Please see Matt for details and a brochure about this exciting community program.
