Do you know someone who is looking for a unique or different way to get their middle/high school education? You know that Arcadia is a small, welcoming, progressive charter school, which is project-focused and serves students in grades 6-12. Our teachers creatively engage students in the rewarding challenges of understanding the world around them. We may be a little geeky or quirky; but we value authentically student-centered education, and we may be the right place for someone you know. Encourage them to come find out at our Open House Information Session on January 8 at 6:30 p.m.

Arcadia’s Arts for Martin ’18 Community Choir: An Invitation
You are invited to join singers from around the Northfield community for our annual evening of reflection on and celebration of the life of Martin Luther King, at Arcadia Charter School’s Arts for Martin, Friday, January 12th, 2018 at 7:00 PM.
This is an inspiring evening, featuring singers, dancers, instrumentalists and actors from throughout the community, elementary school to professional level.
Come and join the community choir. All ages and levels are welcome. We will gather for rehearsal at Arcadia on Tuesday, January 9th, 7:00 PM and Thursday, January 11th, 7:00 PM. The performance is at 7:00 PM Friday, January 12th at Arcadia, 1719 Cannon Road.
We’ll sing music from the African American tradition, along with our closing piece, written for the celebration by Dan Kallman. Call Bob Gregory-Bjorklund at 663-8806, ext. 212 with any questions.
Guest presenter is Reginaldo Haslett-Marroquin, community activist and author of In the Shadow of Green Man. He’ll be joined by the A for M Band and Community Choir led by Craig Wasner and Dan Kallman, the Prairie Creek Orchestra, the Latino Playwrights, the Aztec Dancers, the Arcadia Dancers and Poets and the Laura Baker Choir.
The public is cordially invited to the January 12th performance; admission is free. Please join us for this meaningful event.
Arcadia is hosting an Omelet Breakfast with the Northfield Eagles Club on Sunday, January 21, 2018, from 8:30am to 12:30pm. 100% of all money raised will be used to support May term activities and scholarships at Arcadia. Please support your child in selling these tickets to friends and family over the holidays. Because the tickets are ‘pre-sold’, 100% of the proceeds from tickets not used, will come back to the school. Those who cannot attend this event may wish to buy a ticket just to support Arcadia’s May Term.
The advisory selling the most tickets by the January 12 deadline, will be treated to an as yet unspecified party in late January. Let’s take advantage of this great fund-raising opportunity! Thanks for your help!!
